Layer?
A Map Layer is a collection of geographic features that can be

Layers tab located under the eMaps Tools Menu.
Why do Map Layers appear and disappear as I zoom in
or out?
Displaying all Map Layers at certain zoom levels will clutter the
Map Viewer window and impede the session’s performance. To manage the display of
Map Layers, the eMaps site employs the use of zoom ranges. Zoom ranges control
the scale at which map layers are displayed. In general, as you zoom into an
area, more information is displayed. As you zoom out, the finer details are
automatically turned off. Map Layers that are not displayable at the current scale
of the Map Viewer window are “grayed” out and cannot be
selected.
